Deutsches Rotes Kreuz – Landesverband Nordrhein e. V.

The DRK Landesverband Nordrhein e.V. is part of the international Red Cross and Red Crescent movement. The ICRC is the umbrella under which more than 125 million people worldwide provide succour to victims of armed conflict and natural disasters and others in need.

More than 15,000 volunteer helpers are registered with the Nordrhein Red Cross. Together with the employees of the DRK Landesverband, they perform a number of tasks for the good of society as a whole, ranging from care for the elderly and work with children and young people to emergency assistance following natural disasters, including overseas. The German Red Cross is a modern charity which offers a wide range of opportunities for community involvement. While one volunteer might elect to escort a group of seniors on a day trip, another might become involved in a self-help group or actively promote the peaceful coexistence of people from different backgrounds – to name but a few of the many opportunities on offer.
