Franz Sales Haus
At the Franz Sales Haus founded in 1884, people with mental health problems and psychological disorders can live, learn, work and have fun together all under one roof. This makes the Franz Sales Haus one of the most important support facilities for the disabled in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Some 800 staff and numerous volunteer helpers enable the people entrusted to their care to live, learn, work and have fun together and to thrive as individuals. The facility’s overriding objective is to enable people with disabilities to be fully fledged members of society.
The Franz Sales Haus is committed to integration and promotes personal encounters in all those areas in which it is active: in schools, on farms and at the Sportzentrum Ruhr which is committed to integration. The Franz Sales Haus, in other words, offers schoolchildren, residents and staff far more than just basic care.
Yet without all the donations and hands-on support it receives, it would not be able to improve quality of life for people with disabilities. RWE Companius, for example, facilitated the provision of additional care for people with severe multiple disabilities.
