The Ehrenamt Agentur Essen e. V. promotes voluntary work and attaches special importance to bringing voluntary work to the attention of private enterprise.
The Ehrenamt Agentur Essen e. V. was set up by the city of Essen and the Stiftung FAIRNETZEN in 2005. Its primary objective is to bring voluntary work to the attention of private enterprise and to add constantly to the pool of active volunteers.

The Ehrenamt Agentur Essen does a lot of work in education as well as providing support and guidance for children, young people, families and the elderly. In addition to advising, profiling and finding assignments for volunteers, it also organises projects of its own.

RWE Companius and the Ehrenamt Agentur Essen cooperate on a regular basis. One recent example of this is the “Friends for children” campaign, which set out to find friends for children of primary-school age who are growing up in difficult circumstances and have no adult friends and mentors to whom they can turn for support. Numerous RWE employees rallied to the cause and are now devoting at least some of their spare time to befriending needy children.
