Bundesnetzwerk Bürgerschaftliches Engagement
The Bundesnetzwerk Bürgerschaftliches Engagement addresses various issues connected with community involvement, including legal and organisational issues and the need for greater recognition.
The Bundesnetzwerk Bürgerschaftliches Engagement (BBE) promotes civic society and community involvement in all areas and at all political levels. Founded in 2002 by a group of activists at grassroots level as well as in the public and private sector, the BBE now has 220 members. Several million people are organised in its member organisations.
The organisation is concerned with a wide range of issues, but especially with the legal and organisational aspects of community involvement, the future of voluntary work, the role of community involvement in reforms of the welfare state, the involvement of immigrants, education and training issues, voluntary work in an aging population, corporate citizenship, the need for greater recognition and last, but not least, the importance of networking civic societies at national level to create a single civic society at European level.
