RWE Companius fact sheet

The RWE Group supports its employees' social involvement through its own corporate volunteering initiative, RWE Companius under the motto "people make it happen." The scheme provides similar support to interested outsiders, via the sponsorship model.

  • Sponsorship period: Founded in September 2007 and available across the Group since 2009
  • Sponsorship content: Short and long-term projects in the fields of social affairs, training and education, the environment and conservation, energy, culture and sport. An RWE employee is actively involved in person.
  • Sponsorship amount per project: €500 - €2000
    (depending on uniform, neutral sponsorship criteria)

  • The core of the initiative is the Companius website www.rwecompanius.com. This is a simple way of enabling employees and interested outsiders to apply for project sponsorship or volunteer as helpers with initiatives and proposed projects.
  • RWE Companius works permanently with various partner charities and devises interesting projects and long-term commitments jointly with them.
  • RWE Companius cooperates with Management Development to offer both projects for individual employee development and team activities which serve to promote social and technical skills. RWE Companius is an integral part of the RWE Group's junior staff development programme.
  • RWE employees who volunteer as helpers on a project have the opportunity of registering other people, e.g. relatives or friends, as helpers. These extra supporters do not have to be employed by RWE.
  • In addition to the Companius Web, RWE Companius is active with its own profile on the volunteering platforms weltbeweger and engagiert-in-deutschland.
