Eight employees of Lechwerke AG (LEW) support the Augsburger Tafel
The first RWE Companius winter programme proves a great success, thanks largely to the high level of commitment on the part of RWE employees. Working in collaboration with other non-profit organisations, RWE Companius presented a number of projects, funding for which was tied to the personal commitment of at least one RWE employee. The Augsburger Tafel is an organisation which week after week provides some 3,000 needy people with groceries they could not otherwise afford and which thanks to eight employees of LEW has now received valuable extra funding from RWE Companius.

Among the most dedicated helpers was board member Ulrich Kühnl, who accompanied the volunteers from Tafel e. V. on a tour. Besides distributing groceries at its various distribution centres, the Augsburger Tafel also supplies social facilities such as shelters for women and the homeless. “Meeting needy and in most cases elderly people in their milieu made a deep impression on me and brought home to me the reality of the conditions in which they live,” says Kühnl.
