The RWE Companius Winter Programme makes dreams a reality!
In the winter of 2008/2009, RWE Companius organised a special campaign for all RWE employees: the RWE Companius Winter Programme.
Working in collaboration with the Johanniter Unfall-Hilfe e. V. and the Centrum für bürgerschaftliches Engagement e. V., RWE Companius turned the spotlight on a selection of projects still in need of helpers from the pool provided by the RWE Group.

What made the programme so special was that the employees who signed up as helpers could also obtain financial support from RWE Companius for the institutional beneficiary.
RWE Companius and the two charitable organisations it teamed up with were delighted with both the enthusiastic response and the level of proactive support. Thanks to all the hard work put in, a total of 29 projects could be seen through to completion!
The Bullerbü day-care centre run by the Johanniter, for example, is thrilled with its new water-and-sand play area, created with the support of Martin Kaussen of RWE. The nursery school had long wanted to have a special playground that would encourage physical play as well as teaching children the value of water as a natural resource.
Thanks to the support of Martin Kaussen and his team of volunteer parents and staff, this goal has now been achieved. The children can now play in a lovely little stream flowing through a series of hollowed-out logs. Because they first have to fetch the water from inside the building, however, the little ones learn right from the start that water is a precious resource that must not be squandered.
