Support for the paramedics of tomorrow

The young people belonging to the Johanniter youth group in Erkrath were in urgent need of help. The room used for their regular meetings at which they learn everything an accredited paramedic has to know left a lot to be desired – if not in size, then certainly in terms of atmosphere. Thanks to the RWE Companius winter programme, three employees of RWE learned of the facility’s need for a facelift and decided spontaneously to lend the youth group their support.

The three of them met in mid-April in Erkrath and there devoted one whole Saturday to completing at least part of the necessary renovation work. The ceiling was patched up and painted and, after taping off all the power sockets, switches, windows and skirting boards, the walls were given a fresh coat of paint.

This was the fourth such project in which Michael Lück has taken part. “These projects are a great way of getting to know other people at RWE,” says Lück, who is himself an employee of RWE.

The necessary materials were purchased with funds provided by RWE Companius.
