The RWE Companius Project of the Year 2009 was chosen in a ballot in which 1,356 RWE employees from all the companies in the Group took part.

The RWE Companius Winter Programme was a complete success! Thanks to the active support of numerous RWE employees, more than 20 projects were seen through to completion.

The employees of the RWE Energy Group who took part in the sponsored run organised by the Westfälische Rundschau at the Rote Erde stadium in Dortmund raised funds for a good cause. They ran a total of 1,452 laps and have donated the funds raised to the ADFC (the German Cycling Club), which will use them to buy bicycles with trailers that can be lent out to schools for use on excursions.

The joint fund-raising campaign by RWE Companius and the Johanniter was a resounding success! A cheque for €54,000 has now been handed over to the Johanniter organisation, which will use the funds to provide children and young people with at least “one warm meal a day”.

Many RWE Companius members seized the opportunity of the special funding competition in the winter of 2007 to submit some interesting new ideas. You can read all about the 20 winning projects here. As you will see, they range from the renovation of a nursery school to the explanation of rare natural phenomena.
