Voluntary work – a special challenge

Voluntary work has long been widely practised in Europe and is now becoming increasingly popular in Germany as well.

More and more people are investing at least some of their spare time in doing unpaid work for the benefit of others. The possibilities are endless, ranging from the coaching of a junior football team to nature conservation, animal rights, integration projects and projects in the cultural sphere. Nor are those on the receiving end the only ones to benefit. Many of the people who have helped out on such projects describe their voluntary work as an enriching, worthwhile experience.
