RWE Companius sets new standards in corporate volunteering, since the financial and organisational support it provides is not confined to RWE employees alone. RWE Companius defines corporate volunteering broadly enough to include the promotion of projects by volunteers outside the company. That is the purpose of the supervisor model, which allows external initiatives to be presented on the RWE Companius platform so that RWE employees can sign up as project supervisors.

Non-RWE volunteers are not the only ones to profit from this system, since it gives time-pressured RWE employees a chance to become involved as well. A lot of working people have no shortage of good will, but a serious shortage of spare time. As a project supervisor, however, they can support a worthwhile project in a way that does not take up too much of their time.

RWE Companius makes no distinction between the project applications of RWE employees and those of external volunteers. The criteria by which they are evaluated are the same in both cases.
